The Williamson Magor Group, one of the foremost producers of Assam quality tea, welcomes you.Established in the year 1868 as a tea company, the group now produces an output of 30 million Kg of tea per year from its 23 tea estates in Assam and 5 million Kg from its 5 tea estates in Dooars.

1866 Captain JH Williamson, who had interests in tea plantations, and R B Magor, an assistant with the Great Eastern Hotel in Calcutta, establish the company
1933 RB Magor’s grandson, Richard Magor, takes over the company. BM Khaitan invests in the group
1954 Williamson Magor & Co becomes a limited company
1961 B Bajoria, an investor, acquired a 25% stake in the Bishnauth Tea Company, the flagship in the Williamson Magor Tea Estates. The Khaitan family provides the money to buy out the Bajoria stake. BM Khaitan becomes the group’s managing director
1987 McLeod Russel Group decides to sell its tea plantations in India. BM Khaitan buys the estates
2001 George Williamson & Company, Kolkata and Williamson Magor & Company, Kolkata mutually decided to separate
