Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKML) more than doubled its growth with 15,948 units sold in December 2011 as compared to 6,362 units in the corresponding month last year, thereby registering its highest growth of 151 per cent in the year. TKML registered an annual growth of 82 per cent in the year 2011.

The company sold 1,36,150 units as compared to 74,762 units in the previous year, the company said in a statement.

The Etios series sales topped the yearly sales volume with 43,313 units of Etios and 20,262 units of Etios Liva sold respectively.
Commenting on the year’s performance Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director – Marketing, said, “The past year has seen good sales in TKM despite challenging market conditions and unforeseen and unfortunate occurrence of Tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand. The Etios series, the sales driver in 2011, has sold well. The Innova, Fortuner and Corolla Altis followed with 51,930 units, 10,946 units and 9,283 units respectively. The coming year is of vital importance as we get to witness and contribute to the growing Indian auto industry. We have a new array of vehicles lined up for the year 2012.”

TKML is also looking forward to the prestigious Delhi Auto Expo 2012 where it will showcase the new face of Toyota with the New Innova, New Fortuner, New LC 200, New Prius and New Camry, in addition to its existing line up of vehicles, he said.

“We also have a few surprises and excitement awaiting at our exhibit at the Lake Hangar. Watch out for the Etios Motor Racing”, Singh added.
